My front side marker light has three "amber" components: 1. The amber bulb (which you'll retain even with the white lights) 2. The amber plastic "lens" (which you plan on changing to a clear lens) 3. The fiber optic cable which shoots light to the "oval thin spot" on the amber lenses.

Open the closure so you can see the red and black ballast. Unplug the little wiring harness from the top of the ballast. Then twist the ballast and it will pull off and come free. Now you have a black plastic ring securing the bulb in. Unscrew the ring and the bulb will come right out.
