Scooter owners can now enroll their machine in a rider education program, and if successful, earn a license waiver. Of course, there are a few rules: Students use their own scooters. No scooters are provided. Scooter engines must exceed 50cc and be less than 500cc. The scooter must be owned, registered, and insured by the student. Pocket bikes & mini motorcycles. Electric kick scooters. Can only be operated on designated roads in communities participating in B.C.'s electric kick scooter pilot project. Motorized skateboards. Motorized wheelchairs. Driver's licence and insurance not required. Can be used on sidewalks or roads, following the same rules as pedestrians.
